Ice skating Luleå

Learn the basics of Nordic ice skating! Our ice skating Luleå tours are a fun way to learn to ice skate safely and enjoy being outdoors. Together with an experienced guide you go out on the popular Luleå ice track. The Luleå ice track (11 km) surrounds the city and is daily maintained by the Luleå municipality.

The earliest ice skating happened in southern Finland more than 4000 years ago! This was done to save energy during winter journeys. Ice skating has always been popular as a recreation, a means of transport and spectator sport during winter. When the waters froze, skating matches were held in towns and villages.

During this 2 hour tour you get to know the basics of ice skating: how to get moving on the ice, how to turn and slow down and even how to fall down safely. Halfway the tour a stop will be made by one of the rest places beside the track where hot beverages and a snack are served by your guide.
