Snowmobile tour Luleå Archipelago
Swedish Lapland
SNOWMOBILE TOUR LULEÅ ARCHIPELAGO
Luleå is located on the coast of Swedish Lapland. With a total of 1,300 islands it’s a unique environment. Between December and April, the sea freezes up to a meter thick ice which is perfect for winter activities like snowmobiling. Snowmobiles allow you to feel the freedom of covering large areas in a short space of time. Its a fabulous way to get around and discover the majestic nature of Swedish Lapland.
Your guide will start with a briefing about the days adventure. Safety instructions are given as well as background information regarding what you are about to experience.
4 hour Snowmobile tour
The ambition of the 4h snowmobile tour is to reach the most remote outermost islands of the archipelago. If conditions are right, we aim for Brändöskär. An idyllic fishing village dating back to the 17th century. We will visit the chapel which dates from 1774 and we will pass by idyllic fishing huts. Outside of the outermost islands is the frozen Bothnian bay with its seemingly endless fields of pack ice and snow. Some years the blue ice of the sea piles up into high formations.
Along the stops are regularly made and your guide will inform you about the surroundings and tell about life in the northern wilderness. You are offered hot beverages and a lunch which is cooked over an open fire by your guide.
Not so much time? We also offer 2h snowmobile tours.
