Storforsen guided tour

Join us on one of our Luleå day tours to the Storforsen nature reserve and let yourself be carried away by the thundering river. The Pite River is one of the four unharnessed National Rivers of Sweden and the rapids are one of the biggest unrestricted water rapids in Europe. The river is stretching 400 kilometres from its glacial source to the sea.

Nature reserve Storforsen

The nature reserve of Storforsen is a good example of a majestic river landscape in Northern Sweden. It includes a delta where the water flows slowly. The river is surrounded by primeval-like forest with a rich variety of plant and animal life. On both side of the river there is spruce forest where Arctic Raspberry, Lillies of the valley, Twinflower and Cinnamon rose take turns blossoming during summer.

The area of Storforsen is is provided with footpaths and walkways what allows us to have a save look from the very edge of the river. Away from the main river it’s possible to walk amongst smaller streams, natural pools and falls.

During this guided tour, your guide will inform you about the surroundings, history and wildlife. There are numerous locations where it is possible to light a fire and enjoy an outdoor lunch and hot steaming coffee during the long summer days.
