Sustainability
We want to share with our guests everything we love about Swedish Lapland. Experiences that respect and care for the nature, cultures and people who live here.
For us, long-term sustainability is just as important as being a great host. Our guests come from every corner of the world to experience our nature and culture. We strive to offer this beautiful environment based on long-term sustainability. Environmental awareness is always a part of our daily operations. Therefore we continually work to reduce our negative environmental impact. We are Nature’s Best certified and a member of Naturturismforetagen, which is the branch organization for nature-based tourism and works on a sustainable development of the industry.
Environmental consideration is reflected in our choice of suppliers. Purchasing food and beverages for our tours, cleaning products and how we plan future investments.
Quality and safety all the way
Products will be developed, monitored and checked by our risk analyses and safety plans. Which contributes to a sustainable long-term business. We believe in quality tourism. Where our tours must meet and even exceed our customers high expectations.
Diversity on the work floor
We actively work on creating diversity in the workforce. Which means differences among employees in terms of age, cultural background, physical abilities and disabilities, race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation is actively considered. No two humans are alike.
Local social responsibility
Being part of the Luleå municipality is from highest importance for us as Luleå Travel. Memberships with Visit Luleå and the destination Swedish Lapland contributes to this. But we also are active to foster diversity, eco-friendly habits and awareness about the society’s impact on our planet and environment in the local community. Our commitment to corporate social responsibility has grown over the years in many ways and we are constantly looking for social projects to cooperate with. On the moment we support the local initiative ´Natursnokara´ a part of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and we support Hej Framling. A Swedish non-governmental organization offering health boosting activities free of charge and open for everyone.
Green purchasing
Luleå Travel has the policy to buy products & services that minimise negative environmental impacts. The cycle of manufacturing, transportation, use and recycling or disposal are always assessed to choose the best option available. Luleå Travel will choose to purchase the product that has a reduced negative effect or increased positive effect on human health and the environment, when compared with competing products that serve the same purpose. We prefer to purchase from local suppliers and food used during our tours is produced near its point of consumption.
Choose smart
As our guest, you too can contribute to support the environment and sensitive nature. By for example using the train instead of flights between Stockholm and Luleå to reduce CO2 emissions. Select hotels who step out in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. Or choosing activities with the lowest environmental impact during your stay and buying locally produced products.
