The Arctic Bath is an extraordinary oasis of wellness and design, floating on the Luleå river near the small village of Harads, less than 50 km below the Arctic Circle. Literally built on water, Arctic Bath floats during summer and is frozen in ice during winter.
While Arctic Bath consists of only 12 exclusive luxurious cabins, half of them are floating on water with different views of the northern sky, and the other cabins are tucked away from the shore with huge glass window facing to the north. As a guest, in addition to the assured personalised experience, you can also indulge yourself in the beauty of Swedish Lapland in four seasons – Spa under the northern lights in winter, swim under the midnight sun during the summer months, breathe the arctic fresh air from the seasonal rustic golden autumn and emerald spring forests.
Spa & wellness
The circular design of the Arctic Bath main building has an open-air cold bath in the middle, ringed with three saunas, a spa treatment room and hot baths. This design reflects the northernmost relaxation culture. The extreme contrast between the hot and cold affirm you not only refreshment from the immersed blood circulation also soothing muscles and soften skins. You may also enjoy the hotel customized wellness packages from facial detox, hot stone body massage, body scrub to yoga and meditation.

ITINERARY

Arrival Day
Arrival at Luleå airport based on your flight schedule, you will be warmly welcomed by our local guide. On the short drive (9km) to your hotel in the city centre, you already get a good impression from the impressive Luleå river as you will cross the bridge which connects Luleå with the southern mainland. The hotel for tonight is the Clarion Hotel Sense. The hotel’s Skybar on the 9th floor has a breathtaking view over Lulea’s rooftops and Norra Hamn harbour. Welcome to Luleå!
Day 2 – Cultural route towards Arctic Bath
After enjoying your Scandinavian breakfast buffet, your professional guide will be ready to show you the cultural highlights of the area. You will visit to the UNESCO World heritage site – Gammelstad. This ´old town´ is the district’s main cultural symbol and the best preserved church town in Sweden. Together with your guide you will walk through the labyrinth of narrow streets and learn more about the history and culture.
After the tour, you will be transferred to your luxurious accommodation of the night in Arctic Bath. The journey from Luleå to Arctic Bath takes approx. 90 mins (90km). Upon arrival, you may enjoy a warm lunch before indulging yourself into the spa. Tonight, you will be served a supreme 5-course dinner with local ingredients
Accommodation
Connected to the shore by a floating walkway is your exclusive floating double-bed cabin. It is free-floating in summer and float on the frozen Luleå River in winter. The 57.5 m2 wood deck outside the cabin offers a perfect place for meditation, sunbathing in summer or spot the magnificent northern light. Your cabin is well equipped with a bathroom with shower, air-condition, minibar, spa bar, Wi-Fi, floor heat and pellets stove. In the evening a supreme 5-course dinner with local ingredients will be served in the restaurant.
Day 3 – Arctic wellness inspired by the Timber Era
Waking up surrounded by nature, take your time to enjoy the breakfast with a selection of local breads, meats and cheeses from nearby villages in Jokkmokk and Vuollerim. It is time to cherish the phenomenal Arctic Spa at your own pace. Make your way towards the water and into the spa and wellness facilities. Should you start with one of the three hot saunas or the warm bath? Most important is that after the warmth, you should dip yourself directly to the open-air cold bath to feel the most refreshing temperature contrast!
In addition, the Arctic Bath provides wellness treatments suited for your needs (both single and duo treatments available).
During the evening, you will enjoy a local and sustainable produced dinner integrated with Sámi flavours. All the meal ingredients used in the Arctic Bath are taken from the surrounding nature in Norrbotten. All the meat and fish served comes from the wild, meaning there are no traces of pesticides or antibiotics, or as a general term: organic!
Day 4 – Departure Day
Depending on your flight schedule a private transfer will be ready for you by the Arctic Bath. But maybe you have some time left to enjoy the hotel extraordinary spa or the surrounding area. Taking a morning sauna maybe a good farewell before saying goodbye.
