Multi Sports Week (5 days / 4 nights)

This concept is suitable for anyone with a passion for adventures without having any prior knowledge or previous experience. You can do climbing, sea kayaking, white water rafting and cycling with fatbikes.

During the summer season you can choose from two weeks where climbing, sea kayaking, white water rafting and cycling with fatbikes are combined into a multi sports activity week. All guides are experienced and educated. This concept is suitable for anyone with a passion for adventures without having any prior knowledge or previous experience.

ITINERARY

Explore Luleå | Multi Sports Week | 5 days / 4 nights

Arrival day
If you wish to arrive a few days earlier, feel free, we gladly help you with arranging your accommodation. But it is required that you at least arrive one day prior to the start of the multi sports week. We will pick you up at the airport, greet you and provide you with an evening snack as well as a breakfast package. If you require dinner on your arrival day you need to order that in the booking request.

Activity day 1 – Climbing
We will pick you up at the campsite at 8 am. We will drive to Dödlarsberget which is the council of Älvsbyn. This is a magnificent mountain which has fantastic views and good quality climbing that suits everyone from beginners to more experienced climbers. Everyone will get a good challenge here,  you can climb different routes on top ropes. You will also get to descend, great fun! Up by the barbecue area, we will enjoy a lunch prepared over an open fire. From here you  have fantastic views over the Piteå river and the forest.  We will return at the campsite around 5-6 pm, where we will have a dinner together. Optional for  the evening is to relax in the newly renovated wood burning sauna down by the river. The sauna needs to be booked in advance.

Activity day 2 – White water rafting
Today we will pick you up from the campsite at 9 am. We will drive to the Kälix river where you will go paddling in the rapids, which are graded 2-4, depending on the water level.  You will get safety instructions and be equipped with a life jacket, helmet, wetsuit and wet shoes and then you will experience the best possible adventure on the Kälix river! A four-hour journey along the beautiful and dramatic rapids in Kamlungeforsarna. We will make a stop at the riverfront for lunch. Depending on the water level you will go in different crafts, from 2-man inflatable canoes to 9-man inflatable rafts. Once you’re done, the transfer goes back to the campsite where you enjoy a dinner and discuss the day’s activities. We are expected to be back between 5-6 pm.

Activity day 3 – Kayaking
At 10 am we will will pick you up from the campsite and drive to southern harbour in Luleå, here the kayaks are ready for you.  After a safety instruction and an introduction how to kayak you will start by practising in the harbour. When everybody feels confident you will continue out into the archipelago of Luleå. The archipelago of Luleå has more then 1000 islands and is a beautiful and varied nature area. Kayaking is a fantastic way to feel the closeness to the water and the tranquillity of  the nature. Your lunch will be at a nice sheltered spot during the day. We also provide extra energy bars, water and coffee. On the end of the midday you will return to the camp site and arrive between 5-6 pm.Where we will have a dinner together.

Activity day 4 – Fat bike
We will meet you at the campsite at 10 am. From here we go together to Gammelstad, an unique historical church village.  We collect the bikes, check them out and learn how they work. Fat bikes are a special, there large tyres gives you the opportunity to cycle on snow, sand and in the woods. While riding your bike you will get a guided tour trough the church village, which is UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996 After the tour you continue towards Gammestadsviken, a nature reserve that offers beautiful nature and rich bird life.  The route follows  nice forest paths that wind through the nature reserve.  There will be enough time for  Swedish Fika and on a nice spot we will stop for a lunch with we will bring us in a backpack. We expect to be back around 3 pm at the campsite.  In the afternoon you have free time, you can go to the city center or just relax at the campsite. The dinner on this day is not included in this travel package.

We reserve the right to change the shedule for each activity depending on the weather and other factors. If someone in your group doesn’t want to participate in one of the activities, he or she can choose to do something else on that day, it may also be possible to change activity. The person will be liable for any additional costs related witch the activity change.

HIGHLIGHTS YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE

Moose

Moose is the largest of all the deer species. They reach 170 – 210 cm height at shoulder.  Bulls weigh weigh 380 – 850 kg and cows weigh 200 – 360 kg. Moose are solitary and do not live in families or herds. The calves follow the cow during one year. Their diet consists of both terrestrial and aquatic vegetation. During Summer when food is plentiful they typically feed on herbs and leaves. During Winter they survive on shrubs and buds from Pine trees.

Midnight Sun

The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months in places north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle, when the sun remains visible at the local midnight. Around the summer solstice (approximately 21 June in the Northern Hemisphere and 22 December in the Southern Hemisphere) the sun is visible for the full 24 hours, given fair weather.

Sami Culture

Sapmi is what the Sami call their land, an area that stretches over Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula in Russia. In Sweden, Sapmi covers the most northern part. It is a nation without borders but not without a history, culture and a language, very much entwined with the reindeer

Gammelstad

Gammelstad Church Town is a UNESCO Word Heritage Site near the city of Luleå. It’s  a type of town that was once widespread throughout northern Scandinavia. It is home to a unique cultural environment. Here you can find the largest late medieval stone church in Northern Sweden, from 1492 and the largest and most  well-preserved church town in Sweden with more than 400 church cottages. Gammelstad  was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1996.
