Lapland Aurora Adventure

On arrival in Kiruna you will land 150km north of the Arctic Circle. Here your Aurora adventure starts with a relaxing visit to the Aurora Spa at Camp Ripan, unwind in the outdoor hot pool while you await the Northern Lights spectacle. The next day you will explore the culture and traditions of the indigenous Sami people. Listen to their stories, feed reindeer, learn how to throw a lasso to gather reindeer, ride on a reindeer-pulled sled and taste Sámi delicacies in a traditional Sámi tipi tent.
Icehotel
It’s not only the Northern Lights which makes Swedish Lapland an interesting destination. During daytime you will visit to the renowned ICEHOTEL, the world’s first hotel made by ice. Since 1989, the hotel has been reincarnated every winter from massive ice blocks harvested from the adjacent Torne River. A hotel and an art exhibition with ever-changing art made out of ice and snow. Its unique ice-made rooms are hand carved differently every year by various artists from all over the world.

Along the way, you will stop to enjoy a warm drink and light dinner by the campfire. Arrival Day
Upon arrival at Kiruna Airport, you will land 150 km above the Arctic Circle in the northernmost part of Sweden. You will stay for 2 nights at the family-owned Camp Ripan, located on the edge of the Kiruna city centre. The hotel’s cosy private timber chalets ensure a comfortable rest after daily activities. The hotel’s restaurant serves a range of delicious dishes, using carefully selected local and organic ingredients to create its Sami-inspired cuisine. After check-in, relax at the hotel’s award-winning Aurora Spa. If you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights amidst the dark polar night sky.
Day 2 – Icehotel, feeding reindeer and Dogsledding
During the morning, you will visit the world famous Icehotel. Discover the hotel, featuring breathtaking sculptures and cold rooms hand-crafted by international artists. Enjoy a refreshing drink at the popular icebar. After visiting the Icehotel the day continuous with meeting a Sámi family and listen to their stories, feed reindeer, learn how to throw a lasso to gather reindeer, ride on a reindeer-pulled sled, and taste Sámi delicacies in a traditional Sámi tipi tent. In the evening, join an iconic dog sledding tour to hunt for the magical Northern Lights. Immerse yourself in the dark wintery nights filled with stars and escape the city lights with a team of enthusiastic Huskies. A light outdoor dinner and hot beverage will be served around a campfire while you are inspired by the silence of nature.
Day 3 – Abisko and Aurora Sky Station
Choose from a variety of activities during the morning to explore Kiruna. While in the afternoon a scenic Arctic train ride will bring you to the beautiful mountain village of Abisko. Here you will stay for 2 nights at the STF Abisko Tourist Station, situated by Abisko National Park. This evening, a chairlift ride will bring you to the Aurora Sky Station. 900m above sea level and listed in the Lonely Planet’s top 10 locations in the world to witness the phenomenal Northern Lights. After arriving, you have an opportunity to learn more about the Northern Lights by participating in a guided tour. The last chairlift ride down leaves at 01:00.
Day 4 – Free day toe explore Abisko
In the morning you may take it easy after having a late night in the Aurora Sky Station. If you plan to wake up early, there are many optional tours to choose from to explore the Abisko National Park in your preferred way. Choose from a guided hike in the brisk morning air, snowmobile safari across the pristine mountain ranges, or simply enjoy an icefishing experience on a serene frozen lake. After dinner, you may relax in the hotel for the last evening or spend one more evening outdoors, chasing the Northern Lights by joining an Aurora Safari.
Day 5 – Departure Day
As you wrap up your daily adventures, you’ll soon be departing from this enchanting winter wonderland. Depending on your flight schedule, you may fit in another memorable day in Abisko. If you have an early flight, it’s time to check out of your hotel room. A transfer will bring you to Kiruna Airport.
