Tent Tipi events Luleå – Swedish Lapland. With our newly purchased Tentipi tents we can offer a stylish solution for sheltering you and your guests. Made from canvas and wood, they are visually stunning from the outside and exceptionally atmospheric on the inside. The natural beauty of our tipi tents make the perfect complement for an outdoor setting, whether it’s minus degrees or sunny weather.

The tents can be set up pretty much anywhere, even on the ice. We have a range of tipis you can use, on their own or in some cases joined. The biggest and most impressive of our tents is the Stratus 72 with a diameter of 10.3m and 7m height, it can host up to 60 people seated. Truly an eye catching and impressive structure. The unique design of the tents allows you to be able to lift all or some of the sides to allow the Swedish summer sun in or take advantage of a spectacular view. Bigger? Then we can combine different tents, the possibilities are endless.

Icebreaker tours Luleå – Swedish Lapland

Activities Luleå – Swedish Lapland

An unique experience while visiting Swedish Lapland is to join a tour on board of a icebreaker operating in the Bothnian Bay. The icebreaker is a unique vessel. Unlike other ships, the icebreaker has a specially designed reinforced hull to withstand the pressure of the ice, an ice-clearing shape to cut a channel through the frozen waters, and the great power to push through sea ice. In the beginning of winter ice is not more than 30-50 cm thick, but by April it could reach up to 2 meter.

During 3 hours you will be a witness of a massive ice breaking power of the vessel, have a guided tour all the way down to the engine rooms and all way up to Captain’s bridge. You can relax in the cozy saloon, enjoying warm juice or go for walk on the frozen sea ice during the stop.  The icebreaker makes a pool free of ice and every visitor can take a swim in the dark icy water in flotation survival suit. You can choose between two different icebreakers, different in size, price and location.

Top 3 most popular winter activities 2017 in Luleå

Luleå enjoys a long snow season with snow beginning around December and lasting until April, making it a perfect place for winter activities. The three most requested activities in 2017.  Phote credits: Fredrik Broman – Isdimma

1. Dog sledding

By far the most requested activity for this year and one of the most iconic ways to enjoy the nature of Swedish Lapland in wintertime. Going on a dog sledding tour through Swedish Lapland is an unique experience in many ways. The strength of the dogs and their capability to pull the sled at high speed in the snow covered terrain, the crisp climate and stunning surroundings will give you a thrill never to be  forgotten. If you are lucky you might even spot reindeer or a moose on your trip. You can choose between different tours  from one our to full day or chasing the northern lights in the evening!

2. Snowmobiling

Riding on a snowmobile is a great way to experience the outdoors of Swedish Lapland and they can be ridden by one or two people at a time. This is a fun activity and one of the favourite activities to do in Swedish Lapland. It’s not only a fast and efficient way to get from one place to another but it also allows you to go fast and take in the gorgeous scenery along the way.

3. Snowshoe walking

If skiing or snowboarding is a little fast paced for you, or you just want to try something a bit different, then maybe you should give snowshoeing a go. Our new and modern snowshoes are very light weight and easy to use. This makes walking through snow-covered terrain effortless, opening up huge possibilities for exploring the winter wilderness of Swedish Lapland. If you can walk you can snowshoe – it’s that easy!

Hondenslede tocht in Zweeds Lapland

Heeft u ooit het geluid gehoord van Husky honden die gretig klaar staan om te rennen?

Dit indrukwekkende geluid, is het eerste wat je hoort zodra je het terrein op loopt waar de husky’s staan te wachten. Zodra ze je door hebben worden ze enthousiast en verlangen ze erna om te gaan rennen.  Een hondenslede tocht in Zweeds Lapland is een unieke ervaring. Noorderlicht tour

Noorderlicht tours 2017/18

Luleå bevind zich vlakbij de Poolcirkel en tijdens heldere, donkere poolnachten is het een goede locatie om het Noorderlicht te zien. Dit kan zelfs per sneeuwscooter of met een hondensleetocht. Tijdens deze tours gaat u buiten de gebaande paden op zoek naar een van de meest mysterieuze en diepgaande verschijnselen van de wereld. U laat de felle lichten van de stad achter zich om zodoende een betere kans te hebben om deze majestueuze heldere lichten van de natuur te zien.

Er is geen specifieke route of vaste locaties, de gids gebruikt zijn ervaring en kennis van de weersverwachtingen om u naar de beste locatie te rijden. Ben u van plan om naar Luleå te komen? Nieuwe activiteiten

Winter 2017/18

Aankomend winterseizoen kan je uit veel nieuwe activiteiten kiezen bij Luleå Travel. Ervaar de kick van rijden op een sneeuwscooter of een hondenslede tocht of geniet van de rust van een wit winterlandschap tijdens een sneeuwschoenwandeling. Nieuw dit seizoen is ook de mogelijkheid om een Sami familie te ontmoeten in hun winterkamp dicht bij de Poolcirkel. Een paar uur voor al je zintuigen, luister naar het knisperende vuur terwijl je geniet van traditioneel Sami eten. Een authentieke ontmoeting rondom het vuur in de tipi tent, waar je meer te weten komt over de Sami cultuur en geschiedenis. Een unieke ervaring!

Welcome on the website of Luleå Travel!  We are a brand new travel agency in Luleå, an exciting city at the coast of Swedish Lapland. Here we live between the islands from the Archipelago on the one side and endless forests and mountains on the other side. Skiing, dog sledding or ice-skating in the winter months and hiking, kayaking and sailing in the summer months. Swedish Lapland has it all!  With Luleå Travel we were part of the organisation of the international ice skating event ‘Schaatsen Luleå’ attracting local participants and coordinating all winter activities.

We are true nature lovers and travelled intensively over the word. Beside private travels we worked for many years with tourism in the Arctic regions.

Swedish Lapland has so much to offer and we like to share our love of adventure with you. Our insider’s knowledge and key contacts in each destination allow us to offer unique experiences.
