ITINERARY
Arctic Escape – Stockholm to Kiruna by Train | 7 days / 6 nights

Day 1 – Welcome to Stockholm!
Your Stockholm odyssey starts the moment you arrive at Arlanda Airport. Hop on the fast and eco-friendly Arlanda Express train. Skipping all the traffic, you’ll be in the heart of the city in just 20 minutes. For the next few days, you will stay at the cozy and family-run Freys Hotel, a short 200-meter walk from Stockholm Central Station and the Arlanda Express stop. Stockholm, Scandinavia’s largest city, seamlessly combines rich history, natural beauty, and the vibrant energy of a modern metropolis.
Day 2 – Stockholm – private Old Town walking tour
To enrich your experience in Stockholm, a private city walking tour is included for you. The guide will meet you by the hotel reception and together you will visit the main attractions of Stockholm. The itinerary and distance of walking are subject to your interest. You may want to visit the Royal Palace, one of the Europe’s largest palaces. A must-do in Stockholm is visiting the beautiful old town, Gamla Stan, one of the best-preserved medieval city centers in Europe. In this idyllic district, you will find cobblestone streets and narrow alleyways surrounded by charming mustard and rust-colored houses.
Day 3 – Explore Stockholm & Overnigh train to Kiruna
Spend your final day in Stockholm, try ice skating in the heart of the city at Kungsträdgården, or take a peaceful stroll through the snowy trails of Djurgården park. If you’re in the mood for some culture and shopping, explore the city’s vibrant design and fashion scene in Östermalm and Södermalm. In the evening, board the overnight train for a unique journey to Kiruna. Travel in comfort and sustainability in your private sleeping compartment. Day 4 – Chasing the Northern Lights
Step into the Arctic as you arrive in Kiruna, 200 km beyond the Arctic Circle. A private transfer takes you to Camp Ripan, a warm and welcoming lodge just outside the city, where you’ll stay in your own cozy timber chalet. In the evening, enjoy a delicious three-course dinner made with local ingredients, followed by an unforgettable Northern Lights chase by minibus. With an expert guide leading the way, you’ll head into the wilderness for a chance to witness the magical Aurora Borealis lighting up the Arctic sky.
Day 5 – Snowmobiling & the Icehotel
Get ready for an exciting snowmobile adventure through Kiruna’s Arctic wilderness. Cruise across snowy trails, with chances to spot wild reindeer or moose along the way. Halfway warm up in a a traditional Sámi-style tipi tent, where a warm lunch awaits. In the afternoon, visit the iconic Icehotel—the world’s first hotel built entirely of ice and snow. Wander through its artfully sculpted rooms and suites and enjoy a drink served in a glass made of ice at the famous Icebar.
Day 6 – Dogsledding Adventure & Aurora Spa
Begin your day with an unforgettable dogsledding journey through the Arctic wilderness. Sitting comfy on the sled, you can relax while your guide expertly mushes the dogs along along the snow covered trails. Back at Camp Ripan, unwind at the award-winning Aurora Spa. Day 7 – Departure Day
As you wrap up your daily adventures, you’ll soon be departing from this beautiful winter wonderland.Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some spare time to relax or fit in another memorable experience in Kiruna.
